Cabbage and Potatoes Easy

I was in a little BBQ joint once, a long time ago and they had this cabbage that was just delicious, so good, that we asked for seconds and thirds.  It is so simple that I never would have thought of it.

First get your grill ready.

Get a head of cabbage and clean it and wash it and then cut into quarters and remove the core.
Tear off aluminum foil enough to wrap each individual piece of cabbage.  Place cabbage on foil and top with a big hunk of butter, sprinkle with salt and pepper and wrap up tight.
You can lay the wrapped cabbage directly onto the coals or place on the grill.  Let cook at least 45 minutes.  If you put them directly onto the coals, they will need to be watched very carefully and turned almost constantly.  The charcoal gives it that taste you just can't get anywhere else.

I also make cabbage with potatoes and cut the cabbage the same way and place in one of those disposable aluminum baking pans (sprayed with Pam) and then peel, wash, and thinly slice (like real thick potato chips) and arrange on top of cabbage and place large slices of butter over the top and salt and pepper.  Seasoned salt is also good.   Seal with foil and place on top of grill.  Cook for at least 1 hr.

Both ways, it's good with any type of meat, charcoaled hamburgers, weiners, polish sausage, chicken, etc., etc..........and the best part is that you don't have to wash the pan!   My favorite way to cook!
